About the Author
Frances Schoonmaker is a professor in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Teacher's College, Columbia University. She has taught and lectured in China, Japan, Mexico, England, and India, and served as the head of the teacher education initiative for the Teachers College/UNICEF Afghanistan Project.Chi Chung's illustrations have been published in numerous children's books, including Goldilocks and the Three Bears (1992), The Treasure Hunt (1992), The Hottest Day of the Year (1988), and Sam Learns to Cook (1988). Chi Chung lives in New York City.
